William Angliss Institute appoints new CEO
Grant Dreher has been appointed chief executive officer of William Angliss Institute and will begin in his new role next month.
Mr Dreher will join William Angliss Institute on April 28 and succeed Nicholas Hunt as new CEO to continue to advance educational outcomes at the tertiary institution.
Mr Dreher boasts extensive experience in the field of education, with more than 25 years of experience in executive and senior leadership in both vocational and higher education.
As Australia’s largest foods, tourism, hospitality, and events training institution, William Angliss Institute is recognised as first-choice vocational provider in Australia.
Mr Dreher’s rich experience in education has also established deep links with William Angliss Institute's industry sectors including food, tourism, hospitality, and events.
“Grant’s leadership and expertise in education will bring fresh perspectives and innovative strategies to our Institution,” William Angliss Institute chair John Pandazopoulos said.
“We are excited to see his vision unfold and drive our Institute to new heights.”
Mr Dreher’s exceptional vision and robust partnerships with industry leaders and the government will contribute to the continued growth and success of William Angliss Institute, which makes him a uniquely qualified leader for the Institute.
He has most recently served as CEO of TasTAFE where he will officially conclude his time on April 25.
Since joining TasTAFE in early 2021, he oversaw its transition into a not-for-profit government business and led the development of a new 10-year strategic plan and vision.
He has been active in the field of national vocational education and training, where he has a wealth of strategic planning in the development of industries and enterprises.
Mr Pandazopoulos paid tribute to outgoing CEO Nicholas Hunt, who he said had played an excellent role in the strategic development of the institute.
“Under Nicholas’s guidance, we have achieved remarkable milestones and set a strong foundation for future success,” Mr Pandazopoulos said.
Mr Hunt will continue with William Angliss Institute as its education and strategic development director working across educational governance and project implementation.
Wayne Crosbie has taken charge as acting CEO during the interim.
“As we welcome Grant to William Angliss Institute, we are confident that his leadership will build upon this legacy and drive our Institute forward. We look forward to a bright and prosperous future under his stewardship,” Mr Pandazopoulos said.
