A fresh start for Victoria

Last week, my friend Jess Wilson was elected unopposed as Leader of the Victorian Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition. This isn’t just a great result for our party – it is fantastic news for every Victorian.

At the next election, in just under a year, Victorians have a clear, compelling choice.

Do we choose to stick with the tired, out-of-touch Labor Government, doubling down on an era of devastating waste, where we are shackled by over a decade of financial mismanagement, paying a staggering $21 million a day just in interest on their debt?

Or do we embrace a fresh start with a Jess Wilson Liberals and Nationals Government? The answer is simple.

From the moment she stepped up, Jess has clearly articulated her mission and her priorities as leader and future Premier.

Jess and our team are focused on the priorities that matter to all Victorians:

Getting the budget back under control so we can invest in the things that matter;
Ending the crime crisis and prioritising community safety;
Making sure that Victorians can access the quality health care that they need and deserve; and
Giving every Victorian the best opportunity to own their own home.

These are not just goals, they are the urgently needed, practical reforms required after more than a decade of a Labor Government that has consistently shown it is disconnected from ordinary Victorians.

Not a single day passes without a constituent contacting me about a neglected road, a collapsing school, or an act of senseless crime that makes them feel less safe in their own city.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

I have had the privilege of knowing Jess Wilson my entire adult life. I have seen, firsthand, her unyielding dedication, her incredible work ethic, and her proven ability to get things done.

She is a determined millennial mum who understands the needs and concerns of all Victorians.

I know that if she is given the privilege to serve as your Premier next November, she will unleash these attributes and her strong values to finally give Victoria the fresh start we deserve.
