Police have appealed for public assistance as they investigate a glassing attack that occurred in the CBD in August.

Investigators have been told several people were involved in a fight on Queen St, near Little Collins Street, about 1.20am on August 14.

“During the fight it is alleged a 29-year-old man from Doreen was hit with a bottle which caused lacerations to his neck and face,” a police spokesperson said.

“He was located in William St by police a short time later and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”

Police have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.

Anyone with information that can assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
