Transit Divisional Response Unit officers are seeking information from the public after two CBD railway stations were evacuated earlier this month due to flooding.

Investigators were told offenders damaged a water pipe and fire sprinkler on Thursday, October 10 at around 10.40pm, after gaining access to a stairwell connecting platforms at Melbourne Central Train Station.

Extensive flooding occurred on several platforms from the damage, resulting in automated evacuations of Melbourne Central and Flagstaff Stations.

Significant delays and disruptions were caused as the flooding had a direct effect on Melbourne’s underground rail network.

Authorities have released CCTV footage and images of two people they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online.
