The morning after - still dancin’
4th March, 2016
Organisers are claiming the most popular White Night event to date following the February 20 all-night event.
They say 580,000 people attended the fourth White Night, which was spread across five precincts and featured 130 free events.
They say it will return in 2017.
CBD News was happier to have a look around at 6am when the crowds had thinned.
Our take on the event is that it risks losing its way and needs to focus exclusively on its core function of illuminating the night.
There are plenty of other opportunities to have a party. Adoption of a purely cultural approach should thin the oppressive crowds and improve the overall experience.
