Melbourne is one of the world’s great cities because we never stand still. We embrace new ideas, celebrate our diversity and back the people and businesses that make our communities thrive.

As the Federal Member for Melbourne, I’m focused on making sure our city continues to grow in a way that is fair, sustainable and leaves no one behind.

That means delivering practical outcomes that improve people’s lives.

Cost-of-living relief is making a real difference. Tax cuts are putting more money back into people’s pockets, Medicare is being strengthened, cheaper medicines are helping families manage household budgets, and expanded Paid Parental Leave is giving parents more time with their newest family members. These are investments that help people today while building a stronger Australia for tomorrow.

We’re also investing in the future of Melbourne.

The Australian Government is backing major infrastructure that will keep our city moving and support future growth. Whether it’s investing in better public transport, building more homes or supporting the transition to clean energy, we’re laying the foundations for a more connected, affordable and liveable Melbourne.

Just as importantly, we’re investing in the people who make Melbourne unique.

Over recent weeks I’ve had the privilege of meeting with community organisations, charities, researchers, artists, educators and small businesses across our electorate.

From organisations supporting young people into employment like Good Cycles, to emergency relief providers, creative spaces like Craft Victoria and Jump Left, neighbourhood groups, and medical researchers at the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery and the Baker Institute developing world-leading treatments, I am constantly reminded that Melbourne’s greatest strength is its people.

Government works best when it listens. Those conversations shape my advocacy in Canberra and ensure local voices are heard when decisions are being made.

Labor understands that a strong economy and a strong community go hand in hand. Supporting local businesses, investing in science, protecting our environment, backing the arts and ensuring everyone has access to opportunity are not competing priorities – they are all part of building a better Melbourne.

There’s always more to do, but I’m proud of what we’re delivering and optimistic about what lies ahead.

Melbourne deserves a representative who is visible, accessible and focused on outcomes. Every week I’m out meeting residents, visiting local organisations and listening to the ideas and concerns that make our city stronger.
