Melbourne’s retail heart will shimmer with style this Black Friday weekend, as The Strand Melbourne and Melbourne’s GPO unveil a one-of-a-kind shopping experience celebrating the joy of personalisation.

From November 28 to December 1, shoppers who spend $99 or more across the two city destinations can take part in the Charmed activation – an exclusive pop-up experience where fashion meets creativity.

Located between Bourke and Elizabeth streets, the activation offers shoppers a complimentary customisable bag charm, complete with a range of stylish add-ons. Visitors can choose from letter charms to personalise their initials, lucky dip trinkets for an element of surprise, or retailer-exclusive mini charms inspired by participating stores.

With collectable accessories and customisation trends surging globally, the activation aims to capture the fun and flair of modern retail. It’s part of a wider push to elevate Melbourne’s city shopping experience through creativity, connection, and community spirit.

“Black Friday is all about excitement and discovery, and our Charmed activation brings that energy to life in a fun, creative way,” said Leah Zou, marketing manager at The Strand Melbourne and Melbourne’s GPO. “We’re inviting shoppers to not only enjoy great deals but also walk away with something unique that reflects their personal style.”

The activation adds a dose of festive sparkle to the city’s shopping calendar, arriving just as Melburnians begin their holiday gift hunts. The Strand and GPO are both home to a mix of local designers, global brands, and boutique retailers, making them ideal destinations for thoughtful gift-buying and seasonal indulgence.

The Strand Melbourne features names like Acne, COS, Dinosaur Designs, and LTRO, while the neighbouring Melbourne’s GPO combines heritage architecture with flagship destinations such as H&M, Larsen Jewellery, and Ca De Vin.

Together, the two precincts form one of Melbourne’s most vibrant shopping hubs, seamlessly linking fashion, design, and food.
