Internal flood shuts building

A main water burst at 55 Swanston St on September 9 damaged the entire electrical system, leading to the closure of the office building.

Tenants were forced to temporary close their businesses until further notice due to power failure.

Building manager Johan Fourie said, in a notice on the door, that a plumber and an electrical engineer had been organised to repair the system but a timeframe for completion had not been established until the extent of the damage was assessed.
