Snapped Melbourne
22nd May, 2019
Winners of “Snapped”, a biennial photography competition by the City of Melbourne Libraries, were announced on May 15 after a record 2000 entries were sorted through.
Nearly three times the number of entries submitted last time were submitted in this competition.
The competition asked photographers to capture how people work, play, live and gather in the City of Melbourne.
Entrants were encouraged to look through older photographs and submit photos which depict the rapidly changing nature of Melbourne.
The images will be added to the library heritage collection, and all shortlisted entries are being exhibited at the Library at the Dock until Sunday July 7.
First prize was won by Benizi Santamaria for his photo Sunny Side Up (pictured).
