Man charged after alleged sexual assault

Police have charged a man following an alleged sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman on June 3 in the CBD.
The charges follow an alleged incident after a woman got into a vehicle, she believed was a rideshare shortly before 2am.
A 43-year-old Pakenham man was arrested at his home address on June 6 and interviewed by police.
The man was charged with rape and false imprisonment and had his rideshare driver licence suspended.
He appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 7.
